I have recently been introduced to No 3 Reverse Skip blade made by P'egas (swiss). It cuts very well and follows the lines very well.I have posted how I am very impressed with the F/D blades,so I think it is only fair that I post my views on any blade that I think could help us in our Hobby.
They are available here in the UK from Workshop Heaven.

Bryan , thanks for the information on the Pegas blade . Which one would be your preference ? . I bought some Niqua blades when I bought my saw and found them to be really good , however I then bought some F/D blades from Mike in the US and mostly use these . I seem to get more use from the Niqua blades especially if I am cutting timber over 19 mm . maybe this is just my imagination but I feel that as I don't have to keep any deadlines and therefore am not going flat out they are suitable for the Hobby scroller . Does this make sense .??

I have some Pegas skip blades (plain and reverse) that were supplied with my saw, and I like them, although I mostly use Olson blades as I can pick them up in town.

I bought some plain new old stock Eclipse blades off fleabay which were 60 for 6 quid and they seemed OK so I bought another 120. His price went up to 7.50 after that, so I am glad I got in early. :)

Eugene, aren't Niqua and F/D blades from the same company? I seem to remember reading so, but I don't always trust my memory. :)

Martin.

Eugene this blade is a No 3,but it passes through a 1mm hole.It performs very well on tight turns. It is ideal for piecing work which I do a lot of.Martin I have heard of Olson blades but have never used them yet.Until I joined this site the only blades I used were the blades from Hegner, and the Blades from Hobbies.

Eugene.

I have wanted to try Flying Dutchman, blades for a number of years, but have not been unable to source a UK supplier.
I see you ordered yours from the U.S.
Can I ask please, how you went about ordering/payment from the U.S, and how safe is the procedure.

At the moment I use (Niqua) blades for my fine work, and find these to be very good, is the Flying Dutchman any better.

Many thanks.

Regards.

Many thanks Martin.

Followed your link, then the link on Micks post direct to mikes workshop.com, looks as if Mick ordered his direct from mikes workshop, so may see if I can send mikes workshop an email to enquire on his order procedure.

This is were my late father in law would have been handy, as he was American, but then I suppose that makes my wife half American, not that, that will help. That sentence was a load of drivel’ please ignore.

Never used ebay, don’t know how to, when I asked someone about ebay their reply was, its better you don’t know, and don’t touch with the words pole and barge being used.

Thanks again for your post and the helpful information.

Chris, not wishing to divert attention from the main topic but would just like to say that there is no reason to be afraid of buying on eBay. As a buyer you probably have better protection than you would from any normal website, especially if you only purchase from sellers registered as a business seller. Not only does the law protect you under the Distance Selling Regs but if you have a problem eBay will always help.

hi I also use pegas blade I buy them from axminster tools uk, I find there cheaper, and the p&p is lowee than most, as I live in greece ans its near impossible to find blades here.

Hi Brian.
I am sure you are correct about ebay, but on another site/forum I visit (photographic), there is almost constant, posts of woe, regarding bad experiences.
I am always the one with an half empty glass, so it would be me that it would go bad for. :(

Regards.
