Thankyou, it's an S2 '78 and the Europa' 72.I remember the family talk of it being a JPS but my son paid for the history & discovered my cousin just had it sprayed that way, originally white from the factory.
Cool, mine is a 1979 JPS esprit number 94

I’d love to get a JPS Europa to get the set.

Hey now don't dis the Grifter, I had one of the early ones, metallic red, and it lasted well over 10 years and that was me doing jumps with it and allsorts alongside my mate who had a BMX (polished chromoly frame with those 32 spoked wheels - well flash!) - the twist gears did get stuck twice, but otherwise it was a very sturdy bike and frame.

£600 now on ebay

Mine was blue... I ran it ragged gears often went out of gear.

My thumbs rubbed on the rubber grips until sore..!

Happy days

James

That looks cracking! You'll be able to confirm or dispell this then, is there a badge on the dash which confirms it's a JPS with it's number? Some say it was a dealer added thing, some say factory, others that the badge is a myth. Our two have been off the road for over 20 years, so alot of work ahead. Was yours a renovation project or bought like that?
