Been moving a socket today in the workshop.
Been a while since I did any electrical work, although I trained as an electrician, worked in industry for some years, and then did some time house bashing back in the mid to late 80s.
I bought my first cordless drill / driver, a Bosch, in about 1988, before then I used a "Yankee" spiral rachet for woodscrews.
Anyway, I was putting the woodscrews back today with a normal screwdriver, and had the sudden urge to push rather than turn.
Weird.
Old habits die hard.

I still have my yankee,s but rarely use them, also a steel rawl plug tool - the joys of technology versus the old school tools …
Same here. Haven't used either for some time TBH. Used to occasionally use the plugging tool to help a hammer drill along in masonry, if you hit a hard bit, but never needed it since I bought an SDS drill.
I suppose the Yankees are something of a novelty now. Does anyone use them regularly now?

The 131 with a snail countersink is awesome - 1/2" countersink in one push if the countersink is kept honed.
Thinking about it, I think that the last time I used mine much was with a drill bit for boring pilot holes for screws. That's a few years back.
Good idea with the countersink though.
One of the things I still use sometimes is a Vitrex hand countersink bought from Woolies many years ago. Dead handy for small jobs.
