Oak beams

Hi, I'm just looking into building a brick fireplace and was considering having a solid oak mantle probably a floating one but not sure yet, so would really appreciate if anyone could give me the name of a good supplier of these. There are plenty of choices on Ebay, but your'e never sure who to take a chance with and getting fleeced maybeThanks.

Hewins Oak have pretty much every type, size, dryness etc of Oak you could want.

Check the regulations from Hetas if you are actually having a fire in there. You need to have it surprisingly far up if it's wood. I was going to install one for someone but we decided against it because it would have looked wierd that high up.

Thanks for he response, I've just had a wood burner fitted by a Hetas company and they let me all the rules so I've got the guide lines to work with
