Bandsaw for resawing up to 200mm oak beams...or do it by hand?

Thank you to everyone for sharing your thoughts and hard gained insights.

I think I'll keep with the table saw for resawing and see about getting a 'stock; of cut boards cut thick that I can use the joiner / planner on.
