You could go to B&Q, their birch ply (£34-35ish inc VAT) is more than good enough for something for the workshop.

I wouldn't even use that, if I'm buying ply for the workshop I use the ordinary WBP stuff. It's only a workshop.
 
Have to agree with Jake here. Mine is made from 3/4 shuttering ply, leftover bits of chipboard flooring and 3/4 MDf. All bits left over from my workshop build. Not a thing of beauty but is rigid and holds the router in place.
