I'm on the lookout for some extra ones on ebay etc to fit my SIP.
Bob, I doubt very much that they would fit. It's a little difficult to explain without photos but on the SIP et al, I believe the entire bobbin screws in to a shaft driven by the motor. With the Delta though, each bobbin has a hole bored centrally through its length and this fits over a longer shaft in the machine and is secured by a bolt and washer on top.
But, then again, you're a man who knows how to work metal!
Yup I did think that I really ought to make my own. There is a taper with a LH thread on the end but that is on each bobbin shaft. So as you say the Delta is a different design. The hard bit with making my own is a source of rubber cylinders of the correct diameters to fit on the shafts.
Rubber is hard to machine. Ideally you dip it in liquid nitrogen and turn it as it it were metal but that is a bit difficult in the homeworkshop.
Cheers
