As Pete says plenty of stuff on the net - I use Firefox on my PC and Safari on my Apple stuff - they both work well.
The make a Bookmark use the symbol on the top left (square with upward pointing arrow). To call up Bookmarks use the book symbol on the top right.

OK Peter here is my problem.

I want to watch Terry Harrison painting videos,
so I type in the address bar at the top Terry Harrison painting vids.

and it sends me direct to his web site?????????? This one costs £12. 49.

but I want you tube videos.

Is there a google search bar anywhere where I can get direct to utube with a direct request?

Devon...here's what you need to do:

Firstly make sure you have the separate youtube app on your ipad. This is distinct from finding the youtube website within Safari. The app either pre-exists on your ipad or you will need to download it (for free) from the app store. As I recall, there was a falling out between apple and youtube at some point and there was a 6 month period when the YT app wasn't embedded in ipads bought new (as it always was in the past). If that's true for you, download it free from the app store and then boot the app.

Now you're inside YT but OUTSIDE Safari. Now when you direct your searches they will only occur within the boundaries of YT and you'll no doubt locate your target and I guarantee the content will be free of charge, because that's the scope of YT's service and the entire raison d'etre underlying their business model. It IS possible that "teaser" content typically in shorter clips may trail the way for paid content and advertise a web link to access that paid content (like Steve Maskery's YT teasers). But you will always have the choice.

Glad you get there in the end. Just FYI, current browser design has what's called a 'unified' address bar - the bit you type into doubles as both address bar and Google search, so you were typing in "Terry Harrison painting videos" and Google was sending you to the top hit, Terry Harrison's website, where he charges for his vids.

If you want Youtube videos, go to www.YouTube.com (or use the App as mentioned above) and search for "Terry Harrison painting videos" from there, or search for "Terry Harrison painting videos, YouTube".

Cheers, Pete

Thanks all, I will get there with your help.

In the meantime I was just on Skype to Oz. and they are giving Janet and I invitations to visit, Port Macquarie NSW, and they live on a luxury golf course.

Roger - why have you got it in for Axminster?

Bob, twice they have revamped their website in the last few years and that's fine although personally I'd rather them leave it alone.

But I and many others make a lot of use of the Wish List and the Order History. But when they revamp the website they delete these which is bloody annoying. I've just wasted fifteen minutes trying to track down some items that I know I bought in the past but because I haven't used the exact search terms I end up having to wade through pages and pages of stuff.

And it's bloody annoying losing the Wish List.

The first time they did this, they did restore them. This time they promised to do it as well. And again. And their website is still saying that the Order History will come back. But it hasn't.

I'm with Roger on this one. The info must be on a database somewhere so why not port it across to the new site. Secondly why tell us that it will be available soon and then do nothing? If they have done something then why not tell us?
I've just asked them for an update on this. If the data is not going to be available on the website then I will tell them that I want my order history and wish list sent to me by email.

cheers

Woohoo!! Hiya Andy...glad to see you made it over here :D

Hello Roger, I do hope that we have not heard the last from Tom and that the problems with "over there" can be resolved. The people that I have direct email contact with are as much in the dark at the moment as the rest of us. For the record I never had a problem "over here" other than the size. Wading through pages of new posts every couple of days was just getting too much.

cheers

There is also now VLC for IOS which will play virtually any saved or streamed video format you can throw at it.

Also if you have a smart tv you can send youtube videos to your TV with Twonky Beam.

You shouldn't need it.
On my ipad I have a little symbol that appears in the top corner when watching YouTube.
I press it and it plays it on the tv. Simples.
I can then continue to browse videos whilst it plays on the tv and create a queue of videos.

I'm not sure if you've misinterpreted my rolling eyes smilie...I'm with Roger too...the rolling eyes weren't aimed at him, they were aimed at Axy.

Not misinterpreted at all Bob. I just felt that Axy need to know how many people miss the order history and wish list data. I wonder how many others have asked them for it?

cheers

BTW, I found Siri, and asked it for the nearest Escort Agency but it does not appear to be a very efficient search system.
