My son Julian has painted this model for his friend Andy.
The paint is a water based custom car finish and dries matt, so it's been lacquered with a two pack epoxy finish. Hard as nails. It's a bit rough at the moment, but the lacquer isn't sufficiently hard yet that he can block sand it with wet and dry (used wet, with a bit of washing liquid to lubricate it). Then successively finer grades of cutting compound, then a good wax polish. It should look like glass when it's finished.

To see the finer detail on the trailing edges of the wings and tail plane you'll need to look at this really big pic, and it is a big pic so don't open it unless your prepared to wait.

Fantastic paint job LN, let's hope his mate doesn't crash it.

They don't smash many up, but they have a saying "Always keep a bin bag in your pocket" Says it all dosen't it...

Looks fab, not any good at painting myself, also tried
RC helicopters for a little while, destroyed numerous blades and tail
rotors. dangerous things in the wrong hands, mine were the wrong hands.

Nice paint job. I've never taken to flying RC's but...

...RC sailing boats. Great if you've got the time. I've not unfortunately so ended up selling mine late last year after holding on to it for about 8 years waiting to find the time to sail it again (I've also got a petrol powered RC car which is also waiting on time but it does not take up as much space).:

That's a really nice paint job LN.
Safe to say that when they crash the damage to the paint job will be the least of their worries.
I've given up buying/painting nice canopies for my helis - everytime I fit a new one I seem to trash it in less than 10 minutes.

That is one talented boy LN

He earns his living doing it  and builds models for the manufacturers of kits for magazine articles as well as doing revues for all the RC magazines. I've lost count how many planes he's built over the years, it must be up near a thousand by now and I'm not exagerating honestly.

He's into all things RC from 8ft span or more gliders, cars, electric motor powered aircraft, jet planes, and what I think is termed "Large Model Association" which entails the need for a special licence.
He teaches people to fly RC Helicopters and planes in his spare time. If you've ever been to an RC show I'll bet he's been there demonstating his flying skills.
