Hi All
This is my first post on a forum so please bare with me.

Last week I was given a Lurem C260J Junior Planer/Thicknesser, my electrician wired it in today with a seperate socket directly into the consumer unit with a 16amp supply he fired it up and it tripped, he finally found out there is an earthing problem as when he disconnected the earth wire within the on/off switch it stayed on. He suggested taking the motor out and inspecting it but before I do that has anyone have any other Ideas?

Many thanks
Richard.

Hi

You need the correct breaker in the consumer unit. Do you know if you have a type B or type C?

Having said that, you used an electrician so he should have used the right type?

Disconnecting the earth doesn't sound like the correct way to fix it

Hi

Many thanks for your prompt reply. I have just texted the electrician and waiting for his reply will let you know the out come, it would be a shame to get rid of it as it only cost me 5 pints of ale!

Thanks again

Richard.
