Not exactly a tool revue more of a little gloat, I've mentioned in other threads I was after a Jet 22-44 sander.

Well yesterday I won this one on ebay for £695 and it's local so not far to collect it on Friday.

I think SWMBO is in for a treat then, the sip will not stop the fine sanding dust, it will go though that cloth filter bag, so an upgrade of some sort will be in order. :-k

If it's anything like the one I've got (cheapie from Axminster) then the fine dust'll go straight though it as Dave says. I'd opt for a dedicated Camvac with twin motors, I saw one at Yandles and was impressed. The rep said that they're good at filtering out the fine dust as well but they also have a much smaller footprint in the 'shop than a two bag system.
I 'suppose you could always get rid of some of the now obsolete hand tools in the new cabinet to pay for it    - Rob

Yours is the same as my Axminster AWEDE2 but badged SIP. On that page it has the option to get a fine filter cartridge and fine filter bag. I don't think the one you linked to will fit our machines, I suppose it just depends on if the diameter of the bags are the same.

Thanks for that info, the one I linked too was just for the pic of a cartridge type filter rather than a bag type. If when I try it it is too dusty I'll be ordering one of the type from axminster.

I think you'd best contact Axminster to get some dimensions for the cartridge filter, just so you know it will fit. If it doesn't then, Record Power do something similar for their CX2600 machine. As do Metabo and others... But, then, it starts getting pricey!
