Holkham paint

I have only just got around to trying a sample of holkham linseed oil paint that I bought years ago.

Has the company ceased trading? If so, are all linseed oil paints alike or can anybody recommend an alternative brand?

Great stuff, really impressed with it.

Allback and Holkham - same stuff.

I've been well-pleased with it - easy to prep, apply and clean up. Seems to be holding up well, though only used it earlier this year.

Remember to use it VERY thinly and in warm conditions - if it hasn't dried, DON'T apply the next coat - it will stay tacky and 'craze' if it hasn't cured properly. Probably getting too late in the year to get all the coats on now.

IIRC it always was made by Allback, just marketed/distributed in the UK (and rebranded) as Holkham.
