So I was out in the workshop last night doing this and flitting between machines and hand work. Somewhere between jobs I lost my safety specs. The workshop was a bit of a mess as I haven't sorted my layout since the Lathe was installed. I hunted everywhere for them. There are other pairs in the draw but these are my favourites. So I keep looking, going back to the place where I am sure I left them. In the end I give in and take out the horrible square pair from the drawer. I slide them on to my face under the AirAce and turn on the machine I was using. Sometime later when I was clearing up I took off the AirAce and a pair of safety specs went flying. They where on my head the whole time!

:D

On your head or actually over your eyes?

Haha, I have to admit, I have gone mental before thinking my missus had moved mine off the bench only to realise I was wearing them (thought I was wearing my normal specs  ). ;)

Cheers

on top of my head, I place them there when I'm taking photos

I do that sort of thing all the time, I'm also very adept at putting something down and then not being able to find it again for ages(sometimes never  )

you arent the only one, i reckon i spend longer looking for gouges " I had in my hand a moment ago" than i do turning.

Well I am still looking for my original barrel trimmers, I had a pair, even bought a new one and the old ones have not turned up.

Sometimes the holes in the space time continuum are quite deep. 8-[

I'm afraid that I have a bigger problem.
I'm so short sighted that I can barely as far as my lenses, yet I have to remove them for really fine work, then I can't remember where I put them and I can't see well enough to locate the damn things!

Talk about embarrassing....I've actually been in the workshop going around asking all the other makers if anyone has seen my ear defenders and in the end I was getting a bit shirty about it, suggesting that maybe one of them had moved them.

You guessed it. Like a bizzare Mickey Mouse, they were sat on my head above my ears the whole time. Doh!!!!

Been there, done that, got the teeshirt etc. It's really irritating because when you do realise what you've done you get annoyed with yourself for wasting so much time looking for the damn things.

regards

Brian

And that's something my wife can't understand Brian, I feel such a bloody fool!

It's pencils for me.

I must buy 20-30 pencils a month (99p for 10 at Tesco) yet I can never find one. Where do they all go?

My only thought is that maybe I go home every night with one behind my ear, and SWMBO removes it after I've fallen asleep.

Who said that romance is dead?!

I don't know what she does with them, though...

Cheers

Hi,

I usually start misplacing things when I am tired, then I know its a good time to stop, before I do something wrong.
