Hand planes vs. power planes

I have already posted this at another forum across the pond. Hope that is ok.

I ran across this set of videos extolling the virtues of the hand-held power planer over those old, nasty hand planes, and had to wonder just what is wrong with this guy.

His demonstration of traditional plane usage is, well... Oh, you'll see.

I thought he looked and sounded rather the worse for wear as well.
As for his hand plane use my five year old son uses one more efficiently than he demonstrates.

I see you blokes have found our village silly person,please send him home we miss him....Oh and the title is the Expert Village ,not the people on it....I think its just a few guys tryin to make a dollar.Better then being on welfare,if its going to keep them off the street I`m all for it.
And it shows you how not to do it....after all if you saw it done this way for the first time wouldn`t you have questions for this guy??Like how many trips to Hospital do you make doing this kind of work??
