Hand Drills (Eggbeater & Brace)

I am looking to pick up an egg beater drill along with a brace in anticipation of a hand tool only work bench build and was hoping some of you guys (or gals) may be able to offer some advice on what to look for on the second hand market?

I don't want to use the word cheap, but I am definitely in search of a bargain as money is tight right now so eBay the most likely option.

Any hints or tips would be appreciated, thank you.

FWIW, I recently bought an old Stanley Continental 748A breast drill, these have two speeds and seem solidly built, enclosed gears, and best of all go for around 10-15 quid on Fleabay even in almost new condition. Well, I like mine anyway, and find it a bit easier to use than a standard egg beater type.
I am yet to get a brace so no advice to give there, sorry.

The only bit of advice I can add is get a twin pinion type.

I recently picked up a millers falls no77, the one with two pinions, after cleaning it up it is superb, the only downside being you need to use hex bits with it, apart from that I love it.

I have various Millers Falls and other fancy/collectible drills, but for a actual use, a 5803 is my favourite. Beautifully made,
and it doesn't leave grease everywhere, or trap loose clothing.

Superb.

(the same applies to the Stanley Continental, but I find breast drills far less useful than egg beaters)
