The biggest problem I have is that much as I enjoy live music and the buzz of a concert, none of the current new bands excite me enough to want to go and see them.

In my time I've seen Status Quo, Cher, Ultravox (several times including their reunion this year), Mari Wilson, Barbra Streisand, Mike Oldfield, Depeche Mode, The Corrs, Al Stewart, Midge Ure, Evanescence, Bruce Springsteen, Gordon Giltrap, 10cc, Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds, Del Amitri, ABC, Bob Geldof, Billy Joel, Human League, Queen + Paul Rodgers, Katie Melua and probably some others I can't bring to mind at the moment.
Most of the above I've seen several times and would go see again if I get the chance.

It's been a slow year for concerts for me this year, I'm off to see a local folk singer Sinead Orme tomorrow night (http://www.sineadorme.com) and next year we're seeing Midge Ure play locally and I'm hoping to get to see the Lambrettas as I missed them first time round. All I need is a link to a website with their dates...

I much prefer intimate gigs like those held in places like The Jazz Cafe where the place is not heaving and you can have a bit of dinner too. I've seen Incognito more times than I care to remember at the Jazz Cafe. Ronnie Scotts used to be good too but it's changed hands now. Bit posher.

Going to see Steve Earle on this tuesday-coming.... & just booked my tickets for Jethro Tull for March next year ( always try and do the Tull Gigs .. still awesome after all this time ! :D )...

Try to get to as many gigs as possible, be they 'massive names' ( like AC/DC & The Stones for example ).. or small intimate gigs with local guys who may one day make it 'big' ( Deviltrain or Indian Red Lopez for example ! )

& i like it when people come to my gigs ! .. cause I have started playing Irish Bouzouki again and its great fun .. although nowadays its more for the proverbial 'pie & a pint', than anything else ! :D

Cant beat live music... its great :D

Seen Kate Rusby on tour a few times. She's got the best voice I've ever heard. Even better live than on CD. Would really like to see her at one of the folk festivals...
Never managed to see Nirvana though. Missed my chance there, I guess.

Adam.

I've seen The Red Russian Army Choir. I think they sung Its a long way to Tipperary on the movie Das Boot. I have seen The Dubliners a few times, Hawkwind, AC-DC, Van Halen, Dodgy, Ozric Tentacle, Queen B, The Silver Beatles, The Sid Lawrence Orchestra, Lesley Garret. The Asian Dub Foundation. Sometimes the best live music are the unknowns in pubs, folk club, festivals and busking on the street.

Hi Adam

I agree with your comments on Kate Rusby. My brother used to play in her band for many years and only left this year. She still tours a lot, sure she will be near you next year some time.
