He was involved in the start up of a new company with a new managerial role if i remember right. I'm sure he's probably just run off his feet and no time to spare as with any new job/company. I'm sure when he has some spare time he'll sort it out in due course. As Lons says, no one is out of pocket on his more than generous free giveaway of tools.

An apology - since my last post several weeks ago I've been unable to do much if anything about getting things posted off to you.

No sympathy required but I started feeling a bit 'woozy' at work whilst showing some 'so called' carpenters how to fit a staircase, and ended up passing out and tumbling down a (very poorly fitted, in my opinion) staircase.

Ambulance, blue lights, VERY pretty nurse, rather less pretty old moose of an A&E Fuhrer, several tests and two doctors later and presto - I'm a newly minted Type 2 Diabetic.

Apparently due to an infection things had got very out of control in Blood Sugar land and falling from a staircase was my bodies way of getting my attention. It also got me two broken ribs, a broken finger and a spectacular black eye.

After fiercely opposing medication and opting for an extreme low carb diet for two weeks my Blood Sugars are now 'closer to where we want them' says the GP.

Back to work on Monday, and with a bit of luck this weekend should see some parcels weighed up and some PMs will follow.

So, sorry once again for radio silence. As someone pointed out I did log in a week or so ago, but then immediately fell asleep

Urinary tract infection? That's the common one. I did my feeling woozy bit banked right over at 90mph on the bike. Fortunately I straightened up, slowed down and stopped before I fell over and passed out. Hope you're OK - look after your feet, get to the doctor if you have as much as a scratch. Five different amputations later, I speak with some authority. :D

Sorry to hear the news, but at least you are on the way to getting back to normal. Take it easy and look forward to hearing from you again soon

Sounds nasty, lucky the stairs didn't do you more mischief by the sounds of it.

Don't stress yourself out about sending parcels, nobody minds waiting.

Bloody hell Zeddedhed, sounds nasty, glad to hear you're getting back to normal. Could have been a hell of a lot worse and at least you've had a warning and it can be controlled now. Diabetes isn't great but at least you know how to handle it.

One of my mates collapsed 6 weeks ago, out of the blue had a heart attack but luckily the paramedics got to him very quickly and into theatre and stents inserted before major damage was done. Got a real shock though and it's made him review his lifestyle and be thankful he got a second chance.

Your health is much more important than sending out some freebies mate, take care of yourself.

On holiday the hotel had fancy TV and I watched quite a few episodes of survival programes on Nat Geo and discovery, they seemed to be splinting legs and arms almost everytime I watched.

[quote a broken finger [/quote]

I reckon a grooving plane could be of use there buddy, a real woodworkers fix

Please enclose finger dimensions and ill have one off to you in a jiffy (hammer)

Regards,
Dave

Wow Zed, that sounds bad - but glad it wasn't so bad you didn't notice the "VERY pretty nurse" - that's always a good sign :)

@phil.p - surely you mean you were banked over at *cough* 70 mph?
