The Extreme Extension mounted in the collet was the other thing that transforms a table in use, absolutely brilliant in use, pricey at around fifty quid or so, but wouldn't contemplate life without !

Cheers, Paul :D

I thought that was good too. Which on line emporium did Colin get his from? - Rob

I like the idea but the cost puts me off . Has anyone used the new Axminster ones that use ER20 collets. Cheaper, and the collets are standard metalworking ones.

I've got that extension. It's great, I bought it at a show from the Woodrat guys, I think it's available from the same people as the Router Raizer.

Oh THAT Steve

Colin said he got it from woodworkersworkshop.co.uk. He'd said it was about £70, I can't see a price on the site?

Anyone got a photo of this great router table they can post up for those of us not lucky enough to have seen it in the flesh

Cheers

You can also buy the Xtreme Xtension from Rutlands.

All I can see on that page is a fairly standard router table with the mother of all feather boards on it, am I missing something?

I'm sure I saw someone taking close up pics of this.

Matt: Here is Steve's Router Fence It's a really good design and I can't tell you how may times I wished I had micro adjustability. Tho, I've not got around to building it yet. At my rate of production, it'll be ready when I'm ready to retire. :D

With Woodworkers Workshop you have to call him to get prices and information etc. He used to respond to emails, but I have sent him three in as many months and he's not replied to any of them.

I've often looked at the XX and thought it was a good bit of kit. Now I'm moving away from the big triton routers, I will probably invest.

Literally thousands of people all over the world have built the norm style router table and I've never heard of them having specific overheating problems. If you build it right then you will have a constant flow of air over the router. I'd rather shorten the life of my router by perhaps a year or two then my life by the same amount by breathing in the dust that you can't catch without an enclosed router under a table.

and I'm down for a static plate on the group buy thread as well

Can someone give me a pointer, I can't find this thread

Cheers

I think Steve's router fence looks better possibly than the one I saw at the bash...the micro adjustment is a definite plus , no featherboarding though? (on none that I could see) - Rob

just add it to the front rob, just like any RT fence

I have one of these Rousseau fences which I bought on the Bay very cheap:

http://www.rousseauco.com/bRA3301dl.jpg

The top featherboard is by two sprung wheels. The fence can be changed for taller ones and can be moved out independently either side of the cutter.
It sits on a Woodpecker table top , with Woodpecker plate and a RouterRaizer for vertical adjustment.
All sitting on a Norm type cabinet which sits on an old type Workmate.

Bit of a hotchpot but works fine.

I've just seen in the Australian Carba-Tec catalogue(P42) that their version of the Axminster Raiser has an optional digital read-out. oooooo I like a gadget, I'm guessing someone like Wixey will be able to supply the same thing. Wonder if it could be fitted to just a router with a built in raiser (like the Freud FT3000)
