I would like some advice please on fitting carpet to stone stairs. We have an old Victorian house with Yorkshire stone stairs. I have bought some cheap latex backed runners ( https://www.dunelm.com/product/herringbone-jute-border-stair-runner-1000200042 ) and am not sure the best way to attach them to the stairs. I am concerned that grippers would shred the latex. The fitting advice offered by the shop is to staple them, but obviously that is not going to work with stone. Would a double stick method be suitable in this situation?
Thanks, Andy

A spray contact adhesive would likely also work but would be a total pain to remove from the stone in the future.

I would simply use construction adhesive to attach gripper rod in the usual way. No more nails or similar.

I have seen this done but never done it myself.

Hoover to remove any dust
Spray with carpet adhesive
Use double sided tape

Asked why the adhesive to be told "don't know just how I was shown" but it worked

Same thing attaching gripper rod to tiles except hot melt glue instead of tape

All ideas above are sound and will work . However if the glue holding the grippers was to fail it could lead to an accident. So why not use small plugs 6mm or smaller and screws to secure the grippers as well as the glue ( belt and braces )
