Bandsaw blades

Hi all, I have just acquired a CML PS600 bandsaw but as I live in France i cannot use Tuffsaws, does anyone know of any suppliers of good blades here Tia.

I bought some from Germany but they were useless. I went back to ordering from Tuff and having them posted on. Very expensive exercise though.

Maybe if you ask him who manufactures the blade stock of the blades you want to buy you could search better in France?

Thanks for your reply, Tuff don’t deliver to France, have spent hours looking online but they either don’t do the size I need or don’t say what type of blades they are ie carbon, bi-metal or tipped, it’s a bit of a risk spending a lot of money on a blade that I don’t know how good the quality is, at least with Tuff it’s had so many testimonials and recommendations you can buy with complete confidence.

Just a thought, but do you have any friends in the UK that you could have blades delivered to and then they could send on to you? Would obviously be more expensive but at least you would know exactly what you were getting

Another factor to consider is the new GPSR regulations. I think there was something I read that says it will be introduced on 13th Dec, but this is at odds with online info, and much of the information is lacking in detail. Once it starts to bite, though, it will be ever harder to sell into the EU - at least until everyone gets organised (or gives up!)

Think it's still going ahead on the 13th. Obviously the Authorised Representative will be the main issue for GB exporters.

I'm in Italy, I had exactly the same issue. My suggestion was to call them and ask if they would tell you who makes the blade stock of the blade you want, some of my Tuffsaws blades actually have the manufacturer on them. That way you can be more specific with your search.

Timing may not work for you, but I will do a trip from UK to Normandy at Easter next year (2025) and happy to accept delivery, put them in the car and then stick them in the post in France, if that's helpful. Happy also to do a video call first so you can see who it is at this end. Clive
