View attachment 155058After a few weeks practising on old cypree wood and rebuilding the drive on my second hand lathe my other halfs father gave us an old pile of tianna and iroko wood he had laying up in his garage for the last 30 odd years. This piece came from the smallest off cut he gave as an afterthought as I was about to leave. As we had been invited to our friends birthday party I was duly renigated to me work shop to make something. Brigitte our friend was over the moon and I was blown away by the response of everyone there. Now I've seen turners make a plate in 20 mins this took a good day for me. Now although truly blown away with the pattern but I was sadly disappointed with the cracks and small holes around the edge. Hopefully do better next time.
