Hi everyone

We have had a random bathroom incident.
We were just sitting downstairs when it sounded like a bomb went off upstairs. Turns out the screen on the bath has managed to fall off its mounting pivot scrape a hole in the plaster, crack the toilet cistern, make a hole in the bath tub and cause the bath tub to flex so much it popped out from behind the tiles and off its mounting !
Amazingly the glass did not break .
Looking at it afterwards I think the lower bushing had worn down so much that the whole screen had dropped low enough that the top pin had come out of its hole.

Anyway, we are going to change the little bath for a shower but I am not sure about what to put on the floor, we have lino now but it has gone quite worn and grimey so don`t really want that again, don`t fancy (or have time to install ) ceramic tiles for various reasons so I am considering a laminate or bathroom specific vinyl click floor.
Has anyone used this, and is it waterproof enough for two primary school age kids ?

Cheers

We have just refurbished the bathroom and used vinyl click flooring on the basis that it is completely resistant to water damage.

A standard laminate - even one rated to cope with moisture - will degrade if it gets too wet.

My son with 3 teenage daughters has had it down for about 6 years with no problems, and knowing him it was probably the cheapest stuff available!

We had two en-suites done, used some left-over click in one but the builder wasn't keen. He wanted us to use glue-down lvt, which we did in the other. Both of course fine after only 5 years and adults using them.

I have done 2 bathrooms in vinyl click personally with no issues and through work have installed loads of it, best flooring you can use imo,

- easy to lay
-100% waterproof
-warm underfoot
-can take bit of a knock
