Different situation, I know - but our church insurer says that the best way to use any extinguisher is to hurl it through a window and use the hole to make your escape, letting the professionals deal with it.
Powder in a heritage location is a disaster alll of its own.

Foam is the ultimate all-rounder. Can be use on almost all fires, no mess and highly effective. The foam bubbles are filled with CO2! If the label sez AAAF, you have the rolls royce.

Will check many thanks, we do not have a fire service up here so best to be prepared. I find it shocking that they charge vat on fire extinguishers.
