wood turning chisel any ideas what it is?

Hi, Im selling some wood turning chisels and Ive no idea what this is, its unbranded so maybe rubbish I dont know

anybody have any ideas?

It might be one of those differently designed beading/ coving tools. I have one without the tapered cone shape on the back, but with just the one angled facet.

Think one of these ~ various manuf. have tried over the years but never seem to stay in core range long that prob. tells a story itself!

If nothing else it could be re-ground as a round bar skew, more forgiving than a flat skew imho

Yeah it’s a skewchi gouge, I really like mine & find it very handy

Skewchigouge has been around for some years. One of the guys at my club had one, and after I taught him to use a Skew chisel he no longer used it. You could of course regrind it to a skew, or even a point tool, which was re-introduced by John Berkeley, who taught me the skill of hand thread chasing.

If it's not HSS I'd drill and thread it and screw on some carbide cup bits.
