Am I the only one out there who gets the urge to throw the tv out of the window when the drench advert comes on. The guy has the most annoying monotone voice ever.

If that is advertising that is supposed to make me want to buy a product, then they have failed miserably.

Yes I agree, what is the stuff any way? seems it just ready diluted squash.

Not as bad as the moustached tenor!
That is just one of those annoying stupid ads, that you get used too. The Drench one is something altogether different

I have to agree with that completely, WHAT A CRAP ADD!

This is a well known ploy - the product's name sticks in the subconcious.
Washing powders used to be some of the worst offenders - you got really pineappled off with the ad. but you still bought the persil.

That is exactly what the advertiser's want and they have done their job . To get on your nerves so people end up discussing it.
First rule of marketing is repetion, repetition, repetiton.
I will just refuse to ever use a product if the ad annoys me.

totally agree
i no longer watch live tv
i record everything i want to watch and fast forward through the adverts
although my wife does laugh when she hears me shout

"bloody hell what am i doing watching adverts "

when i forget to fast forward #-o
cheers

Was just reading about a box on sale in the states that doesnt show the ads. The big corps though are suing the maker for lose of revenue money from advertising, HBO,Fox etc. The w**kers!
He is countersuing for freedom of choice.

What does it show instead of the ads? White noise, or maybe fish in an aquarium!

Potter's wheel. :)

Surely it cannot show the ads unless it delays transmission?
We generally record all commercial TV programmes on our Humax but you can get around it if you start to record on time then watch the recording after about 20 mins - that way you just about to miss the adverts.

I think the ads are the best things on telly  especially the ones for the anti wrinkle creams and beauty products with all the made up names of the ingredients, still the girls must get pulled in by all that stuff. I'm definitely going to get some of that Lynx stuff though.......
