Door gap for face frame cabinets

Hello!

Very simple this one, in mm what's an acceptable gap between door edges and face frame with an inset door. Obviously big enough to work cleanly but what do you all think looks good and what looks bad?

I was told the thickness of a 2p peice, is about right and easy to check with one.

In Sunny Devon we have 1.5mm internal door joints.
Traditionally, the door "joint" was 1/16" inside, and 1/8" for external joinery, which I don't think has changed in time.

Thanks all, interesting thing (for me) I was looking round some US sites and most common gap recommended was 3/32 which I think is 2.3 mm

Another thought..

I've been using 2.2mm* for the random stuff I've been making for the garage, too big a gap for household stuff you think??

You may also need to consider the seasonal movement aspect. If you build them in the summer leave the gap closer to 1.5 ( or smaller) as they will shrink over the winter. Similarly, if you build during the winter leave the gap a little more to prevent the doors from binding over the summer (assuming you are using real timber and not man made boards).
