well I have to defend Record Power tools...

with my recent mishap, I phoned Record to explain (12th), and was promised a replacement FOC would be sent out, I figured on at least a few days..
but the postie dropped off a jiffy bag this morning (13th) with a new 3/4 RoG inside :D

=D> =D> to Record Power Tools

Record have been good to me as well
I bought a set of turning tools of ebay "record lathe tools"
when they arrived they were in a record box but werent record chisles   So I contact the seller (he used pictures from records website on his advert) why you deal hooky fakes :?: ? that gets me nowhere then I email recod at derbyshire with pics of fakes within minutes reply we are concerned about this and want to send you a set of proper ones to reimburse you :D Then a little while later another email "we discussed this in the directors meting and want to send you a bigger set" which arived a day later.
10/10 for service. I have a record lathe which has never given me any bother either

PS the worst part of it is the seller still claims to sell record lathe chisles

very reassuring to know , there are still a few good companies around who treat their customers as exactly that, customers....

to many businesses, are keen to take your hard earned money and supply shoddy , if not suspect goods and expect no comeback...and even if you do complain their CS dept ethic seems to be,,,,, agree with everything the "customer" has to say and ignore it..

so, again a big thumbs up for Record..

Neil - glad your near-incident has come to a happy conclusion.
Have been thinking recently of upgrading my lathe for a Record one;nice to know they do good customer service, and don't just stop at the point of sale.

hi andrew,

I was thinking about buying a new lathe, the perform CCBL..... but based on Record`s performance recently i may plump for one of theirs....

the CL3 has taken my eye at the moment.

Cheers

I've found that both Record and Axminster have good after sales service..

Andrew... the chinese type version or the 'made in england' .... I've seen criticisms of the former...

Best advice I can offer is talk to folks who have these lathes.... think twice... buy once!
