Still looking into the various ways of making the cill.
Can I cut the cill with the crown guard in position on the table saw?
I have a 4hp table saw with a sliding table the maximum depth of cut is unfortunately the blade if left tilting. Would I be able to safely cut a cill 9 or 7 degrees with the crown guard safely in position, if so what size cill could I cut?
Cheers.

We certainly cut box sash cills on the panel saw.

They are cills that have a double angled cut with a check rebate.

It is possible to overcome the left hand tilt issue. A canted false fence is one way.

For a standard cill, a thicknesser is far easier and safer though

Yes the thicknesser is preety much the favourite so far. Though out of interest, could you explain about a canted false fence?
Cheers.

You need to measure it as all depends on the precise type of crown guard and precise size of saw and riving knife. So tilt the blade. Set the fence to the size of cill you want. Measure from the fence to to the fixed part of the crown guard closest to the fence and from the bed to the lowest fixed part of the crown guard. It will either fit or not. The usual pinch point is the fixing of the crown guard to the riving knife as this catches on the cill and prevents the cut from being made.
For a rebated cill the crown guard would need to be removed so then you would make a tunnel to guard the blade which you would clamp to your sliding table.

OK, thanks for that.
