It's big, but as said in the other posting, it's almost always a desert for any sort of tools except saltwater-rusted stuff off the rigs.
Reckon I've possibly got half a dozen tool bargains in five years.
BUT, there are occasional sales in the outlying villages that can be interesting. Kincardine Oneil has some particularly nice stuff about every six months, and the Milton of Crathes steam fair usually has some good tools, though usually more engineering than woody.
Best source is usually ScotAds, though the real bargains are usually in Thurso or Skye, which aren't that convenient for Aberdeen!
