Can anyone recommend a router sled compatible with festool rail?

Pretty much as above. I want to use the guide rail but run it with a router, for doing dados and the like.

Im sure theres something via Ebay that fits, is adjustable or such to take up and slack, but what one.

I have the FC32 sled from FC tools that runs on the Makita rails and it works fine, this one can use the 32mm spaced location holes that can be drilled into the rail using the jig.

I got this one as I just use my router with a bush that sits snuggly into the sled and it glides along the rail to do what you are asking.

I think festool sell one, I have got one somewhere. Its just a plastic thingy that attatches to the router via the rails like the side fence, it has little adjusters for the tightness of the fit on the rail like on the bottom of a track saw.

Righto. I have two routers. The big Triton, which i probably wouldn't be using with a rail, its more in the table or large edge moulding, and a Makita RTO700

The two types are, one is a straight forward sled and the other is the one that is both a sled and can index from 32mm spaced holes in a track which replicates the festool LR32 system.

This video shows how the track is drilled with the jig and then how the FC32 sled can be used to index these holes to drill shelf pin holes or a MFT top is possible.

I wonder if this jig would fit the lr32 off the bat. Given the cost of the standard rail, the sled for indexed holes and the drilling jig it adds up to a lot more outlay.

Seems to me that £125 is a bit of a stretch for such a simple thing. I think an hour and an offcut of birch ply or some HDPE and you could get the same result.

I agree with @Ollie78, mine are just 2 pieces of birch ply with one piece screwed/glued on top (to act as a guide edge) of the other, the base piece being a bit wider than the router & bit center line, from the guide edge, set my router up with a bit the size for the dado, (mine are 1/2" & 3/4") spin up the router keep it snugged up to the guide piece and run it over the base piece to cut to size, then its just a simple case of lining the cut edge up to the dado line, set the depth and go, may be in one or two passes.

I have the guide rail adapter and uses the guide rods to attach to the router, but its a faff to get it all lined up, I wouldn't spend £125.00 on a jig just for this set up.

There's a bit more to the LR32 system, at least for shelf pins, than just the router indexing adaptor. You need a way to have, for example, 2 columns of holes per side of a cabinet all align perfectly... or you get a wobbly shelf. They need to be parallel (to each other and the reference edges of the cabinet sides), vertically align from your top reference edge and, ideally, mirror the distances from the face reference edge. It's very easy to clock up.... and not realise until doing a dry fit further down the road. DAMHIKT

Being fairly invested in the Festool system, their LR32 kit takes a lot of the pain out of shelf pins and euro hinges with an inordinate amount of well thought out setup tools. But it's doubled in price since I got mine to just over £500. They really are taking the piddle with that!

But, if all your wanting to do is grooves, then a straight edge / back of a rail is plenty... providing you go the right way and the router doesn't pull away from it. DAMHIKT either
