Im still in trouble with that support I am trying to give elederly neighbour. I uninstalled aol broadband and reinstalled using the disk and the reinstall went cleanly.
However when I tried to get a connection a message comes up telling me no dialing tone and unable to connect.
So went to aol support and they started running router checks and it transpired that an ip number could not be obtained doing an "ipconfig" dos set up.
They say the cable from router to telphone connection must be damaged or faulty. (quite possible it runs underneath fitted carpets and into a hallway bt box.)
The cable is the heavy armoured type with square connectors either end, can anyone tell me what is the title of this cable and any link to the specific item on the web? It is not the oblong type of connector I am used to.
