Some time ago there was a suggestion that it might be worth waiting to see a UK version of the well-known buffing system.

Anyone know if anything ever appeared?

Brendan

Chestnut are doing one they had it at Spalding show but for some reason their site seems to be playing up at the moment for me so I cant get on it to see if they have put it out to general sales yet. http://www.chestnutproducts.co.uk/

I can't remember if it was revealed that it was us bringing a new system out but if it wasn't I can go public now and say that it will be.

It's been a long drawn-out process of getting it right but I think we've got there and feedback on the advance kits we supplied seems to bear this out.

At the moment though the process is stalled; one of the component parts is being made for us overseas and we simply can't get it shipped over! It's in a box, on a container, even loaded onto a ship as far as I know, but due to the current state of world trade the ship isn't full so it won't sail.
Having been let down so many times I'm hesitant to give a date but I'm hoping that we'll have something available for early next month.
I certainly hope so, we've already paid for not only these items (usual terms for export) plus the bits we sourced in the UK, and we still don't have anything to sell!

I'll keep you posted on developments, we think it will be worth waiting for. A couple of forum members have kits which if they want to pass comment on might be helpful for making your mind up whether to hold on a little longer.

Our posts crossed John... what problems are you having with our site?

The basic mops will be on view at the B'ham bash all being well, how close are the domed versions Terry?

I have one of Terry's test buffing systems and I'm delighted with it. I can't unfortunately say how it compares with others on the market, as this is the only one I've used, but it is cracking, and I have shown it to one other person who has experience of other systems, and they seemed to think it compared favourably.

There's also another Forum member, who's views will be a lot more valuable than mine. Watch this space.

At the moment, I don't have anything which will do the insides of bowls, etc, but I believe Terry's working on something for this.

HI Terry

It seems to be OK now, it would let me on to the home page but all other pages the browser just returned a can not display error.

Probably just Virgin playing up again.

Yes, we are working on domed mops for the inside of bowls etc; we're planning for it to work with our 'wheel kit' so it's a bit chicken and egg at the moment, but it is on the drawing board as it were and shouldn't be quite as difficult to launch as the wheel kit has been.
Hopefully!

From the results I saw on Lightweeder's work the kit appears to do a good job and I'm planning to upgrade my smaller, home-made system to it when I get some cash together and when it hits the market

Just a quick update for those interested (hopefully the numbers have swelled since the bash!)...

The ship has sailed! I've been sent a notice of arrival giving the ETA as 30th September, although this can change of course and even then, after it arrives, we'll have to deal with customs clearance and destuffing the container (great term!) so it'll probably be at least another week from then until we see anything, but at least the light at the end of the tunnel is getting closer.

Thanks all concerned for your patience!

Good news Terry and thanks for the update.

Now all I have to do is save my pennies.

Just in time for xmas then? When you'll be offering a super xmas discount of 55% off ?? No? oh well, worth a try!

'My ship's come in with a cargo of ....' well, mandrels, not dollars. (Slightly obscure song reference there, only Brownie points available for spotting it I'm afraid).

So that's good news, it was on time, and we should be taking delivery next week so that means that by the end of next week we should finally have something available. That'll kill all interest!

And yes, we're still working on something for the inside of bowls, we're obviously having to talk to outside manufacturers for this and it amazes me that any of these companies are still in business.

As I don't want to fall foul of advertising rules etc my next step here will to advise to check our website for information, although you're welcome to pm me about this if you wish.

Good news Terry

Now all I have to do is make enough money next weekend to buy one when they are available and then learn how to use it.

Will they come with full instructions?

john

Hi Terry.

Will you be at Harrogate?

If yes, will you have the kits with you & if so do you have a price worked out yet?

Sorry it`s all questions, but i`ve been holding on for your ship to come in   .

But of course! The concept of using the wheels is relatively simple, it's really a case of a little bit of practise to get used to how they work.

Yes, I'll be at Harrogate and will have the kits available there; if all goes according to plan we'll be demonstrating them too.
We're aiming the price to be £50 inc VAT for the complete kit.

Finally got round to using the buffing system i bought from Terry at the Harrogate show.

Terry had kindly demonstrated it, so i already knew how to use it, but i was still surprised how easy it was to use & what great results i`ve achieved.

I like to thank Terry for his time & expertise on this & a few other finishing questions i had, all of which have all worked out very satisfactorily.

I would whole heartedly recommend the buffing system & also his acrylic lacquer.
