I used to use a foam roller for applying this stuff, but as the viscosity increases with temperature drop it becomes very hard to spread and you end up tearing small pieces of foam out of the roller.

I have also used a west systems epoxy notched spreader which does seem to work ok, but I was wondering whether anyone has a better idea. I did look at the Pizzi UF glue spreader, but I can't justify £125 on a glue roller.

Thanks

The pizzi spreader is well worth the money but it is expensive. You can buy the rollers separately as spares for just over £20 http://shop.instant-shop.com/bagpress/p ... 70374.html You can pass a dowel or metal rod through the centre and use it to spread out the adhesive I often just use the roller like this on its own for small jobs to save having to clean out the spreader.

cheers

That's a good idea Jon. Even if I use the notched spreader to apply the adhesive and then use the the roller as you describe to flatten out the notches.
