Has anyone and recommendations on either general car repair forums or online car repair tools suppliers?

I need to "tool up" to do some work on the car and have found some online suppliers but prices seem high for anything other than the most-tiny-diy stuff. Axminster have the odd item but could do with their car repair equivalent.

Find a forum for 'your car' better than general repairs, also haynes service manual useful actually is surprising how little work is required on modern cars.
