hello. a newbie here!

before the year ends, i would like to try it out in the field of scrollsaws.

i have been eyeing for a makita scrollsaw recently and thought of asking you guys if its worth it for starters.

TIA

Hi Shrimps

Welcome to the forum :) .

There is a vast array of different scroll saws available for sale; I don't recall anyone here ever mentioning a Makita before. Now, just watch someone come along and prove me wrong!

We are frequently asked for advice about buying various types of scroll saw. Perhaps it might be advisable for you to browse back through the threads and see what saws other people interested in. Here's one thread to start you off :) .

Hi shrimps,
generally Makita are pretty good quality tool makers, unfortunately i couldn't comment about their scroll saw as this is the 1st time i realised they actually made one?? i did a bit of searching and to be honest only read a couple of user reviews and they seemed pretty unimpressed :(

i did have a look at some other forums as well and they seemed to have a few gripes about the blade clamp and how much of a pain in the backside it was.
i think it might be worth a read of some of the other threads as Gill suggested mate and consider your options and maybe compare prices! :)

@Gill and jayjay,

thanks for the links..now ive got better options.

i hope i can still make my xmas presents in time.haha

cheers!
