Here are my results. Seems to look ok, but do tell me if you spot anything incorrect.

Unfortunately, my unit arrived with a stripped out female thread where the black grub screws go into on the back, so will be contacting Axminster to see what they say. I'll be happy to keep it (and tap a new thread) if they are willing to provide a fair discount, else I'll be expecting a replacement.

Very concise photos,I wonder if they would fit the scheppach basa 3 bandsaw?

I have been following the various threads about Record 350 Bandsaw upgrades for a good while and have just done a version of the same...
My apologies because I didnt take enough photos during the process as I didnt know it would work until I had done it if you see what I mean...
I have already done a couple of things to the bandsaw in the past - including replacing the plastic insert for a more robust one made from (I think) 12mm HDPE

I bought the Axminster Workshop HBS350N Bandsaw Blade Guide Set (part number 102273) really because I could not get hold of the Rikon set easily
The main reason for posting this is that I think I have actually increased the cutting height rather than lose height as most people seem to have done.
The bottom guide was fairly straightforward - I attached this directly to the frame by drilling 2 holes which corresponded to the threaded holes in the bottom of the guide.

The top guide was harder because as I said I was keen not to lose cutting height capacity
I discarded the old upper guide completely rather than use the upper part for mounting

I removed the mounting bracket and used the part of that containing the 10mm hole for the mounting bar and attached that to the rear of the guide. The 10mm mounting bar I used to mount the whole guide, and used a piece of HDPE to create a 'collar' for the 10mm bar to increase the diameter to 14mm so that it fitted in the mounting hole on the upper guide mount. Basically I cut 2 small pieces of 12 mm HDPE 15 x15mm and glued them together. Then drilled a 10mm hole in that on the drill press. Then superglued the 10mm bar in to that 10mm hole, then mounted the 10mm bar in the wood lather and, very carefully and slowly, turned the HDPE collar down to 14mm so it was a snug fit.
The resulting mounting process seemed very solid when I screwed locking screw home

All that was left to do was to remove about 30mm from the bottom of the protective metal sleeve which covers the blade and I now have about 265mm of true cutting height

I also added a 300mm LED light which I wired into the main supply so that when you turn the bandsaw on, the light illuminates the cutting table quite well

I have had this bandsaw for about 12 years and wish I had done all this years ago. I also intend to add the improved suction similar to what MikeK and others have done https://www.ukworkshop.co.uk/thread...ide-upgrade-using-rikon-tool-less-kit.124508/
Comments welcome and once again I apologise for the lack of detailed photos during the process
Cheers Mark
