Hey if anyone using this forum is from northern ireland could you point me in the direction of anywhere to find second hand tools? Or failing that decent tool shops in the belfast area? cheers.

r896neo,

I'm afraid your options are quite limited in Northern Ireland. I usually end up purchasing from Axminster (or similar). Two local options worth a look (depending on what you're looking for):

McBride's Tool Service
Unit 2 Hagan Business Park
183 Templepatrick Road
Ballyclare
Co Antrim
BT39 0RA
028 9334 9181

JB Brown
7 Lisburn Road
Ballynahinch
County Down
BT24 8TT
028 9756 2262

A third option for Record Power kit is

Willis McCloskey
36 Kingsgate St
Coleraine
BT52 1LF
028 70344900

If you become aware of any others, I'd be keen if you could pass them on!

Regards,
Paul.

Cheers, got some stuff from McBrides in mallusk before and the other places i am aware of are McMasters in the centre of town are always good for a deal but they have no stuff to view/ touch its purely catalogue.

the other place who do a few bits of Jet, Dewalt and one or two other bits and bobs is Ray grahams in newtonards.

Killeen Hardware in Armagh do some Jet tools but they are a builders merchant. M.L. Tools in Portadown is a small shop but its packed with quality tools. Sorry, I don't know of anywhere selling secondhand.

Ken's Hardware (right name I think, been a while) in Lisburn isn't too bad.
Linton & Robinson's new place (old place fire bombed) in Strabane is excellent and do stock 2nd hand and used machinery. Also agents for Jet, Felder and all the usual brands. Good showroom and you can "talk" to them too. Ask for Gareth Linton.

I'd also agree Dennis Wilson's place is excellent. So big you'll get lost in it.
