Our 2 are 16 months apart. The first couple of months are not too hard while the littlest one sleeps a lot but soon it gets really interesting. However, close together is already paying dividends for us as they can play together - or fight together and keep themselves amused when you need 10 minutes to get some chores done - good luck with the bump.

I'm curious though why are girls more expensive? we've got 2

PS all the broody talk - it's just to wind you up

My little girl is sick today. Really harsh dry cough, keeps making her vomit. I don't know how I could cope with another one so young at the same time. Wifey's got enough to cope with me being the chief sicknote

Someone my missus knows said something that really struck with us about kids, she said with 2 you can 'man to man mark', after that you are outnumbered. Really made me :D , I'm hoping she's right!!!

In all honesty I know it is going to be hard, but we wanted them to be close in age for the reasons Mrs Oryx mentions, playing together, entertaining each other etc. And the benefit of tough times for the next few years, but get them out of the way ASAP ;)

I have had last week and this week off on hols. Spent a bit of time in the workshop but most of it just playing with Tilly, seeing all the things I miss when I'm away at work, and I must say it is the best holiday I think I have ever had :D Even though she has had flu (really bad cold) for the best part of 6 weeks now, she is just fantastic.

I'll go now before I gush any further :D

yeh I've spent a lot of time with my daughter these past couple of months and it's been great. Will be hard going back to work. It's so hard when they aren't well at this age, because they can't tell you exactly how they feel. It's all guess work. She's finally gone to sleep but every ten minutes she's coughing. Might be a doctors visit tomorrow, just to be sure.

Yeah, we got a call from nursery last Tuesday to say they wanted us to pick her up early as she had a temp. It's a precaution really but she was 39.6 so we took her to the docs. He was fairly relaxed, telling us about how they can't control temp (all the stuff we know anyway) then took her temp again, 40.6. Suddenly his tone was very different, wrote out a prescription for us to get and administer immediately with instructions that if the meds didn't take her temp down within two hours to get her to A&E.

Fortuntely she responded fine and by yesterday she was much better, and today her nose has almost stopped dribbling everywhere

Worrying few hours/days though!

Many congratulations to you and Mrs Trim!

I doubt we'll go beyond the current two, they're trouble enough as it is! I would have liked a little girl, but boys are easier (according to our friends who have both) and as previously mentioned it means I don't have to go everywhere she goes armed with a splatterbat to keep males at bay.

Thanks Vormulac. Funny you should say that about boys being easier than girls. Of all our friends who have both they say the total opposite! ;)
