Thought I'd post my recent efforts in here. I have been making loft beds for two of my children. I posted the youngest's bed a few weeks ago but thought I'd now post my middle daughter's.

I'd asked some question on here regarding materials for the bed and I'd also asked about lightening the drawers so you might like to see the end results.

My middle daughter is at that awkward age where she still likes toys but not if her friends come round so I had the idea that having stairs up to her loft bed would give us the opportunity to have some hidden drawers where she could hide her toys away.

The room has been themed around the Union flag and London.

And if the eagle eyed have spotted the desk and thought it looks messy it's glitter. I painted it white and before the paint dried I sprinkled red, blue and silver glitter all over it. I then had to laquer it to give it a smooth surface.

Nice, I like the idea of the step drawers.
I didn't notice the glitter, I did notice the Festool Systainers though!

Ha ha! Yes I did tell MrsStu that I NEEDED some new tools in order to complete the work! Actually she does think that Festool kit is good having seen it in use (She thinks the TS55 is fab and was very impressed with the dust collection on the OF1400.

Did my first ever trammel work today, I made a corner shelf and wanted a nice curved edge. Made a trammel for the router which was easy as it came with a 30mm copy ring. Turned out well. I then used a round bit on the table router to give it a nice finish.

Thanks guys, we waited ages for the bus to arrive and then 3 showed up! I'm most pleased with hidden drawers.

Well done Stu, I like the drawers very much. =D> You worked well to get that lot done so quick, did'nt take you long.

Cheers Bernard. I was pretty pleased with and with my idea for the drawers. Loads of space in them. Initially I made them out of MRMDF 18mm but they were just too heavy! Ended up with 12mm ply sides and 6mm base.
