Commiserations to all involved........
Hopefully you paid with a Credit Card? In which case your 'debt' rests with the lender.......... otherwise, commiserations and we all hope that it wasn't a huge amount.

Sorry to be pedantic but that's not 100% accurate.

Section 75 rights only apply to amounts between £100 and £30,000.

If it's a card payment (credit or debit) the scheme provider (Visa, MasterCard etc) has disputes rules that kick in and the amount will be refunded (all other things being equal) if a supplier fails.

Still.......... better than nowt! (y)(y)

As of end of November 2019 they had a fairly healthy looking set of accounts: LEICESTER DOORS & TIMBER LIMITED - Filing history (free information from Companies House) (c. 1/2 million shareholder funds / 1/8th million in assets - and the holding company with a further 1/4 million) - LDT Holdings Ltd: LDT HOLDINGS LIMITED - Filing history (free information from Companies House) is the holding company

presumably it can all of gone wrong since then with Covid - however other than the first part of lockdown 1 when everyone closed, that sector has done really well through covid... so if they have gone under - where has all that money gone - even if closed with all 24 staff on furlough, they would have been hard pressed to have burned through 3/4 million pounds...

same directors seem to own a number of businesses...
Tiles N Baths website is working

Buildworld - Builders Merchant - Building Material Supplier the .co.uk website is up and working... so could simply be an issue with the .com website / domain?

Thanks for that. Query submitted via .co.uk site. See if they reply.
Queried with sagepay - no reply as yet.

9days later!
No response to enquiry
Email from buildworld.co.uk - with tracking information.
I've let them know what's happened.
Not a company I'll use again.

Yuk. Talk about Teflon shoulders.
Paid via Sagepay, and (somehow) Opayio.io are in there.
Replies from both wording includes "
are a 3rd party payment gateway. We offer a secure environment to process card payments. We do not have any involvement in the purchase/order/delivery process."
So if there's any query, don't look at us!
Their only interest is creaming off the middleman percentage?

Yebbut ..
1 Have you got the goods yet? - if not . . .
2 Your credit card provider/bank is the place to make a claim - the SagePays of this world only process the transactions and they are correct in what they say about your query.

I would flag it up with your card provider right now.

No, carrier now reports they have the item (see earlier post).
I also let the bank know.

It was the 'not us bro' attitude that annoyed me.

did you buy the item(s) from the buildworld.com website or the .co.uk?
the .com website is still down, but .co.uk has been up all this time...
sounds as though they are poor at communicating, but if the items are on the way, perhaps just badly set up not fraudulent?

Yes, thanks, you pointed that out.
Bought from .com, reported non-delivery via .co.uk (still no reply)
How about lousy at communications... and delivery?
See if their CEO is interested.
No, well hidden directors.

Sagepay were acquired by Opayo.

In fairness it's nothing to do with them - all they do is pass money from A to B safely. The merchant pays them to provide those services.

You will have full protection under the scheme rules of the card provider used by your bank.

just intrigued because it suggests that the .com was working and is now not - so a recent issue - which may have impacted their internal comms in terms of receiving orders / etc. - having said that, if they were one of our clients we would a) aim to have the .com working again as soon as possible, but b) have also put up messages...

so lousy at comms and delivery seems to sum it up...

if you want to track down whoever runs it - go through companies house as per my first post - you can send a letter to the owners...
however, if you are getting the delivery I would probably take it and just never go back!

Items delivered this morning, by Hermes (using a Taxi!).
As you say, take it and don't go back.

No, not this time, but ceoemail are generally good and finding the right person

The.com is back to godaddy according to whois , so could be they're cutting costs?

glad it has arrived...
domain is simply registered through GoDaddy who are a major international registrar... there is still over 4 years of registration left on the domain which suggests that there is simply a technical hitch on it at present... it is no longer easy to find out owners of domains, but it is rare that a domain would revert with that expiration date on it...
