Mike Ashley's Frasers Group has a shedload of brand names that exist only as labels on stock.
It seems the money today is in selling goods made in China, it is a shame we don't seem to design and manufacture here in the UK anymore but there are some good exceptions like Benchdogs who buck the trend. Marketing has become all to powerful, they seem to tell people what to buy rather than just advertise and let the customer choose, fashion being a good example. Without marketing hype who would have thought of selling jeans full of holes !

When a company enters administration the appointed receivers have a legal duty to recover as much money as possible for the creditors. If they can get a few ££ for brand rights, customer list, any stock, equipment, anything at all then they must. A lot depends on why a company goes bust - in some cases the brand image is so damaged it is worthless but in this case the ffx brand must have been of some value

At least they are being honest, some continue trading as if nothing had happened.

Yes. There's quite a large company locally just gone bust - the directors transfered assets to another company (with the same directors) in the months beforehand. They are also directors of several other interconnected companies.

The customer still has to decide to buy are not to buy, that is their question! 🤣
