The fox is 'ok' for the money ... but there are certain 'shortcomings' which 'niggle'...
I was so impresses by Pauls Vicmarc.. lovely machine.
This isn't an 'imminent purchase' though .. just sneaking a wee stash of cash away from the eyes of the "minister of finance", with a view to...
ha ha .... if i had it to give.. give it I would
At the minute, I'm tuckin'the pennies away for a new lathe... I have me eye on a vicmarc. 8) :D (Paul J's fault !!!! 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) )
Siena is fantastic.
Florence is too.. quite a lot of Nigerian Beggars which doesn't suit the place at all.. but check out the Uffizi & the Duomo, the Ponte Vecchio etc.. all great !
San Gimignano is a lovely wee hilltop village.. got a fantastic Torture Museum there too.
Tuscany is great, I...
Great bit of engineering, Kym. Thats fantastic.
Thanks for posting up... its excellent. I'm sure that'll get a fair bit of admiration !
Really like that ! .. excellent ! 8)
This is a nice bit of experimentation Mark ..
I think I'd maybe have like the shoulders of the main form to blend more into the line of the lid.. but thats juts a 'refinement of concept' thing.. just to let the line 'flow' as one, if you know what I mean.
But a sterling effort nonetheless ...
I like him too ... a bit 'cormorant'-esque, and as you say, its not a specific replica of a bird... he definately reminds me of a cormorant though !.
He's great.. got a bit of 'rustic', a bit of 'artistic' .. he just wins on all counts.
really good ! 8) 8) 8)
JT .. the BOWL is outrageously brilliant !!! Its fantastic. 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)
In my very very humble and insignificant opinion... bin the legs, cahnge them for something more in keeping with the rest, and you'll have a piece which could easily sell for HUNDREDS.. its THAT NICE...
Frank's work is fantastic Paul .... we've seen little examples before, and met him at the bash, and his work is absolutey brilliant there.
Can't honestly say there's a piece there I don't admire.
( plus, I thought he was a great guy... quiet, un-assuming, and just a thoroughly good egg )...
Will have to dig the camera out... !!
The 'likeleyhood' of a major strop is quite high ... he's got a bit too big for a clip round the lug .. about 3 inches taller than me, which doesn't make him a giant, but he's likely to hit me back nowadays ! 8)
Managed to do a bit.. yes ! ... some 'successful' some, well.. not so much !
Work's hectic, but good.. just got my son started with the company this week.. and would you believe it.. he's asked for a try at turning too !! Finally, I'm getting through to him ! :D :D :D...
Good for you .. thats a great first effort.
Don't chuck it out as you progress onwards...years down the line, you'll be delighted you kept it.
For a first go, its brilliant.
Well done, look forwards to seeing number 2 ! 8)
Chas, thats absolutely beautiful.
And a fantastic result on the charity raising, into the bargain.
The platter is truly stunning.. you must have been really pleased with that... its gorgeous. 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)
THE BIG DIMPLE ! I love it !
Looks like a winner with this one, Lee .... Oak is a tricky material, and you've come up with a really appealing piece there...
Simple Dimple .... = DIMPLICITY !
Nice piece of work indeed  :D 8)
Get that place tidied up, its a disgrace !
Great stuff Neil ... awesome looking shop.. I think much envy will prevail !
Fantastic ! :D :D :D :D :D :D
