    bench router

Dave, As far as I know there is no difference between the a and the b models of the Triton, I think they were meant to be sold in different countries so may of had different documentation in the box and maybe different plugs. I have not use the dewalts but there are a number of members who...

    Hinges for pocket watch

I think Tam was trying to link to these, no picture but they sound like the right thing from the description.

    bench router

Hi Dave, In my router table I have the big Triton, it is not cheap and not quiet but there again it is not as loud as the cheap B&Q router it replaced. Loads of power with a good design that gives bit changing above the table, along with a nice fine hight adjustment. Dust collection needs a...

Thanks for posting the extra pictures, you have made a very good looking plane and the shavings tell that it works well. :D This is yet another Slope TM that you are greasing.

    Wood Shops in central England

The last time I went to Tilgear, they were in the middle of organising the shop. Most of the space that held all of the wonder things on display that I used to drool over is now dedicated to storage. :x  When I asked about the changes they said that most of their business was mail order...

    Titebond II or III

I side with Mike on this one, I a bottle that I have been using, the top is a very good design. I have glued oak and not had a problem with the glue line standing out. I bought it after my grandson left a toy I made for him in the garden and the rain over night dismantled it. I have not...

    octagonal dowel

Well if you want to see what I did with my router lathe, take a look here. Jason is of course correct, Trend have stopped selling the router lathe, but if you keep an eye on the dreaded ebay they do come up from time to time.

    record power

I had the capacitor on my EB 315 band saw go, I bought a new one in Maplins, cost ~£5

    octagonal dowel

Pip, It is the sort of thing I have used my router lathe for. Instead of turning the job while running the router, I just index to each face and move the router along the piece. I have not made very small stuff like this, what size AF are you looking for?

CIRCULAR SAW BLADE VS MITRE ARE THE SAME?

Andy, Looking at that picture, you have a negative rake blade there. Just the thing for cutting aluminium, but clamping the job down is a must, both sides of the cut, with a wood packing piece if required and you should be OK.

    Look what I've been given

Well done on rehoming them, think if you are going to carve then you will need to practise honing to an extreme degree, most carvers appear to be able to cut air with the tools they use.

    Which lube?? ...steady-on!...

Just to muddy the situation, Royal Enfield bikes at one time had such a problem with the gearbox oil disappearing on to the road they used an oil grease mix. The box had an amount of grease packed into it as it was assembled and then this was topped up with very thick gear oil. I am sorry I have...

    Who left that Slope there?

Hi Pete, It has three speeds: 3000 rpm 2000 rpm 1300 rpm I was using at 2000 rpm as that was where the belt was when I took it out of the box.

    Who left that Slope there?

Well I suppose it was bound to happen, after Mark Hancock got me using his hollowing tool at Needham Market and then spending an afternoon at Blisters, I have slipped on The Slope TM of the round spinney things.  Dave in Chelmsford had lathe he unfortunately needed to sell and...
