I use the Liberon lubricating wax on the all of the table/beds of my machines, it makes a world of difference and on cast iron also helps stop the dreaded rust.

It sold for £104.88 still a good price.

Helmut, I don't know anything about the maker of your plane but looking at the pictures I would say it was someone's work horse. The mouth is wide because of the sole wearing and or being flattened and the blade is quite short due to repeated sharpening. So it should be a good user. :D 8)

Shame your not closer Roger, you could borrow the Screwfix saw but its a long way to drive to pick it up. :roll:

For the job I did I think the band saw is twice as fast, but that was on 3/4" iroko, for 1/4" pine I don't think the scroll saw would be that much slower.

Well I do have the wood burner in the corner and when I find I have trouble moving about I have a clear up. :oops: I never throw wood away, not even shavings, it all gets saved for the wood burner in the winter months which does mean I have a fire wood shed. I almost emptied it this last...
