    Cascamite and Iroko

Wow! Didn't expect this kind of response. To answer a few questions I read as reading through your posts: Clamping was sufficient. 4 heavy duty F clamps. I glued a 400mm section of Iroko onto the main upright then machined afterwards. Both surfaces were machined on the thicknesser. Glue was...

    Cascamite and Iroko

First time using Cascamite and I am a very disappointed. Looks like I have got to cut these off and re-glue some how! Followed all the instructions on the container to the word. Sanded both parts to be glued then wiped before glueing. Clamped, brought into house and left for 48 hours. I then...

Sedgwick PT255 outfeed roller issue - HELP!

First thing I always do if having issues with feeding is give the table a good clean with wd40 & wire wool and then paste wax. Solves the issue most of the time. Is this a recent issue? Blade change recently?

Large Parts, Evapo-Rust & Vacuum bags

I have some larger items to de rust at some point. So I am either going to need a large container and gallons of evapo-rust or use the recommend method of using paper towels covered in the rust remover. I had the idea of placing the part in a vacuum bag then sucking out the air, filling with...

Any clever ideas for wood and sheet storage?

I have a couple of these. So much storage! I have the front open though so you can get access to it at the front. We used to have one at work to which was great for all the light tubes. Just stacked the boxes in the back and you could pull out what you needed very easily. I like it because it...

chuck to fit a 19 mm dia motor shaft

I used one of these on my Morticer: Er collet for shaft 19mm. I ordered some brass shim stock as the fit wasn't 100%. Not sure that's what you are after though. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/3279412 ... b201603_52

Review/modification of Axminster's New cyclone top.

Well being that those plastic £13 are only designed for 40mm vacuums and this one is for 100mm+ dust collectors. Plus Aximisters one is about 4 times the size. It is also the cheapest unit I have seen them and being made from metal and not plastic. I really like my little plastic one for my...

Review/modification of Axminster's New cyclone top.

Thanks all! I had looked at getting an oil drum originally but ended up with this plastic one. As you say plastic ones can collapse as I found out. However putting those rings in the bin I can block the pipe and nothing happens now. Interesting about the direction of airflow. It had...

    Sedgwick Mortice Machine

You want an ER Chuck 19mm. Buy some shim stock too to get abetter fit as the Chinese ER Chucks are on the looser side. I replaced the original collet in my Multico with an ER Chuck. Needed shim stock in order to get it to fit perfect but runs like a dream now. Untitled by jamie skinner, on...

Animal cooler to Air Filter WIP

Lucky Skip find! Found this fan lurking at my works skip. From the look of it came from the farm on site. I later found out it was used to circulate the air in the animal enclosures/barns. By the looks of it it was used in all weathers... My plan was to see if it still worked (it does)...

Anyone use the Jet AFS-500 Filtration system?

I am not sure if this will help but when I made my own air filter unit I used "f" filters from dust spares.co.uk. The whole thing actually cost £75. DIY Air filter: post1253201.html?hilit=air%20filter#p1253201 Dust spares filters: https://www.dustspares.co.uk/filters/pa ... eated.html I...

My new old Wadkin 10 AGS

Lovely saw! Great pics. Regarding the paint stripping. When I strip my machines I use a heavy coat of synstryp paint stripper then cover in plastic leave for 20mins and can back. Just wipes off usually. Sometimes I break out the pressure water to do fiddly bits after I have applied the stripper.

Help match color of the table top

Plum stain maybe? Can always mix stains. Got any similar wood to try some on? Finish applied the the stain makes a difference too. Looks similar to some I did recently. Try using Osmo hard wax oil instead. https://www.wood-finishes-direct.com/pr ... oUQAvD_BwE
