Anyone use the Jet AFS-500 Filtration system?

After many years I have had a major workshop cleanup! And I thought I would clean my Jet AFS-500 filters. No problem, just ran the vacuum over them, but I thought I might change them, they must be at least 10 years old! The manual says :

The filters should be replaced depending on the amount of usage and the environment of your shop

Whatever that means? Not exactly specific.

So I went onto the Axminster site and I would be looking at over £60 for the 2 filters needed! Seems a lot to me.

So, is anyone using the Jet AFS-500 or similar and can tell me what I should be looking for when deciding if I need to change the filters?

I am not sure if this will help but when I made my own air filter unit I used "f" filters from dust spares.co.uk. The whole thing actually cost £75.

I believe they make them in house so they may be able to make you custom sizes ones. Or alternately a standard sized, smaller than you need and make an 'adapter for it' yourself.
