    Random/Orbital sander suggestions

I have a Bosch and a festool. The Bosch Gex 150 is a good machine for the money but is a bit over budget at just under £150 http://www.mtmc.co.uk/product.asp?cooki ... P_ID=34594 might be worth considering its little brother which is cheaper but i havent used one...

GOT a sedgwick PT 255×180 Planer Thicknesser now!!

I dont think you will regret your purchase. The standard dust hood is a folded metal tray which would be quite easy to fabricate from birch ply or mdf. You could also get the part from sedgwick themselves but they can be a bit pricey on parts but worth a phonecall to find out the price. Cheers jon

    Your best bargain buy.

Auctions are always good for a bargain or 2. I have bagged a wadkin spindle moulder for £240 a multico morticer for £150 but the best bargain was this 3metre pad sander which was £43 but costs about 4.5k new :D cheers jon

GOT a sedgwick PT 255×180 Planer Thicknesser now!!

I have its bigger brother the 12inch MB model and it has performed admirably for the last 10 years or so since i bought it. The smaller model is of a similar build quality and should keep going for years. The sedgies are slightly different to the normal combo machines in that the tables dont...

Top or Bottom bearing router bit?.

I have made some templates that you can flip over to machine with the grain. These are used with a spindle moulder and bearing but could easily be used on a router table or handheld router. used to make the curved parts of these doors cheers jon

    Window units required for workshop

i think i may have a few measured wrong cockups in the workshop so will check the sizes for you. The cost of having a couple made up though should not be too much from a selaed unit manufacturer about £10 a unit for a 600x600 unit i would think if you dont need K glass. cheers jon

Can MR MDF ever be not green in colour?

Most of the stuff I use is all green up to 15mm and then 18mm upwards it is usually green in the middle and brown on the faces about 2-3mm into the board. I think most of it is usually medite brand and what it is is burnt into the edge. cheers jon

    Quicker Setting glue?

Gorrilla glue has a longer open and cure time than most PU glues you will probably need to clamp for about 2 hours and be able to machine after about 4 hours. It is a pretty good glue though and excellent for oily and exotic woods. cheers jon

Push to open / close runners

Hi Steve if you have some time you could experiment with the spring loaded touch drawer latch from hafele http://www.hafele.co.uk/Hafele35a1/imag ... _2-178.pdf I have used them in the past on some drawers with side mounted runners but i dont see why they shouldnt work with the grass self...

    Tools required for laminate work

I never bother with contact adhesives and use a D3 PVA or titebond to glue it down with. It depends on how big a panel you are laminating but a simple caul could be made or it is extremley easy if you have access to a vacuum bag or a platten press for doing big panels. cheers Jon

    Multico TM Tenoner

Hi and welcome. You dont mention what type of blocks you are using so i presume you have either whitehill or leitz type blocks. I have whitehill blocks on my TM tenoner and to fit the cutters you just have to push the disposable blades fully back into the block and I just centre the height of...
