Turning MDF into gold in a northern town
All the furniture in Mr & Mrs Brown's house is black; they had searched all over for a black unit for this alcove to no avail. Brad came to the rescue!

I actually used oak insead of ash as I had enough off-cuts in stock. The result was exactly the same.

Very nice work Brad, what finish did you use on it?

Dead easy. Morrells black light-fast stain - sprayed on and ragged off twice to give complete coverage, followed by a couple of coats of 10% AC lacquer.

The important thing to remember is to arris all edges and corners slightly so that the stain doesn't sand off when you are denibbing between coats of lacquer.

Cheers
Brad
