    Base for Domino

I am pretty sure I have seen what I am looking for but can't find it now. Does someone produce a base plate for the domino so that the cutter is centred when cutting into 18mm thick material. On a number of occasions I've lined the base up 180 degrees out and ended up with sides of joints that...

    Mitre saw madness

That's interesting - thanks for sharing. I am dead keen on not having big rails out of the back of my mitre saw. My work bench is struggling for space. I also like the moving fence. I'll have to look at the specs. I'm keen on something with a decent cutting width. 315mm on a straight cut -...

Starting from scratch tool buying advice please

I started out a couple of years ago and I bought a table saw - hardly used it. I find I use a mitre saw and band saw a lot more. It does depend on what you're doing though. A while after I started I bought a track saw and if you have any sheet work to do is recommend that. I bought a Triton...

Making a ring from a coin

Just been looking and I believe that they are illegal and so is breaking down any metal coin. The coinage act of 1971 is still law. http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1971/24/section/10 If you look at the top it is up to date as of yesterday. I think the wiki entry must be wrong. Just...

Making a ring from a coin

I think it was more to do with the queens (or kings) head and defacement of that rather than the monetary value. I didn't know it had been repealed. Is it not illegal to deface the queens head? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Big Orange Warehouse

Note to self - don't add up in your head and then post to the world! That would be more of a stacked dado than a kerf! :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I you were going to buy a router ...

I went for the Triton and haven't regretted it. I like the fact you can use it in the table and raise it from above, the spindle lock is great. The options for lowering are fab. Very powerful and solid. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

in fairness that is pretty tight when allowing for the kerf of the blade. I'm sure there plades aren't 12mm wide but if the board isn't perfectly square and is a mm or two out I can see why it could cause issues.

    Pocket Hole Jigs

I've ordered the Kreg R3 Junior with a case of screws http://images.esellerpro.com/41/I/106/4 ... NMPRO1.jpg I did look at the mini as well but I liked the fact that with the Junior I scan screw the jig in place. I can foresee a number of occasions coming up where I may not be able to clamp...

    Pocket Hole Jigs

I'm about to start a project this weekend and have decided that there will be some requirement for pocket holes. Currently I don't have a jig and have no experience with pocket holes. Most of the pocket holes I'll need to do will be into big pieces of wood so I won't get the chance to use a...

    Mft hole jig on YouTube

I get it. 100% get it. CNC for most people means getting someone else involved either to CNC you a worktop or to get a CNC template created. This system is compact and is yours to keep so you can make new slabs or holes in work benches as required. When I first got into woodworking I'd seen...

    Recommendation for a Jig Saw

There was a test done by one of the magazines a while back and the Dewalt won. No Mafell in the competition if I recall. Makita didn't do well. Festool carved did pretty well. (That's all based on my memory) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Ordered 18mm MR MDF in the end. Ply and grades of it was getting so confusing and the prices were really high for good quality. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Mft hole jig on YouTube

100% agree. I subscribe to his channel and have had numerous contacts with him - very nice fellow. I too got fed up with the X carve as it quickly became of no interest to those without an X carve. Most of his other videos interest me even when I don't have the particular tool he is reviewing...
