    love it, and all the ideas spawned too, hpl faced drawers in all colours - ideal way to use up off cuts from other projects, and 1 main advantage is that HPL is available in too many colours, styles, textures and materials. Keep us informed on the next phase. K

    yes there is a black mdf, drop of oil on it and it comes up a treat with a wax buffing. Other route is any fine grained timber and a water based black stain, coat 2 or 3 times with a rag with de nibbing between coats to achive the depth of colour you wish, coat with transparent shellac or you...

    Old Startrite table saw, what say you....

    I have had mine for 20 years and will never sell it, I hope to get in the next 18 months a proper full size format saw with a 3,2m sliding table, the Startrite will be kept near the hand work area for those " quick " trim cuts. Have fun with yours, just make sure you clean the trunnions often...

    milwaukee 12v versus bosch 10.8v

    just to throw a curve ball here :) I am using Dewalt 12v ni-cads with a few li ions batteries in the tool bag. I've had the oldest drill driver for 18 years and its on its second ni cads. over the years I've used nearly all makes and voltages, and tbh I think the new generation are much better...
